Situated an hour north of the famous (and busier) Towns of Lake Placid and Saranac Lake, an hour south of the City of Montreal, and just west of Plattsburgh, New York, lies a virtually unknown waterfront area of the Adirondack Mountains in the Shadows of majestic Lyon Mountain. These lakes are called Upper Chateaugay Lake, Lower Chateaugay Lake, and Chazy Lake. These serene mountain lakes are loaded with the history of a bygone era and the densely wooded shorelines are lightly populated with camps, cottages, and homes.
Unlike our neighbors in the Olympic Region to the south, real estate prices here are very affordable. Many people are starting to discover our lakes in search of their ¡°little slice of heaven¡±, making this an extremely good area to invest in.
Whatever your interests, this section of the Adirondacks can deliver. We offer the capability of living in one of the most complete recreational areas anywhere. Whiteface Mountain and Titus Ski Areas are minutes away. The lakes are excellent for swimming, fishing, boating, and are the ultimate in photo opportunities. In the winter there a groomed trails for cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and hiking. Locally run restaurants create a comfortable family experience and their home cooking specials are a real treat. For those who prefer the recreation of chance, modern gambling casinos are within a 30 minute drive.
